No activity in our county Democratic party is more central to our mission or more fun than participation in our neighbor-to-neighbor field operations team.

WashoeDEMS determined in 2004 to build a powerful, effective and sustained presence in Washoe County neighborhoods. The WashoeDEMS Field Operations Team was organized around each state assembly district, subdivided into five sections each and further divided into areas, precincts and neighborhoods harnessing the energies of hundreds of volunteers.  In 2006 and 2008, field operations was key to our party’s successes in electing Democrats in local, state and national races.  Our county party’s field team volunteers are often cited as among the best trained, most effective and most dedicated of any in the nation!  This same organization has been utilized to support Democratic Party policies as they are debated and challenged in our elected bodies.

Field operations leaders are part of a leadership council headed by an appointed chair who represents the field operations team on the county party’s steering committee.

The WashoeDEMS field operations team shares a dynamic multi-purpose, infinitely-configurable pool of dedicated volunteers working together in their neighborhoods and the larger community to support Democratic candidates and President Obama’s policy initiatives.
