Honor Roll Dinner Features Mayor of Los Angeles
Antonio Villaraigosa recognizes WashoeDEMS volunteers

RENO — The Democratic Party of Washoe County (WashoeDEMS) presents the 2011 Virginia Demmler Honorees: Mike Haley, Connie Howard, Todd Koch and Mark Tadder; and guest speaker Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles.

Villaraigosa is in his second term as Los Angeles Mayor and is also the current president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Prior to his election as mayor, Villaraigosa was the California State Assemblyman for the 45th District, Speaker of the California State Assembly and Los Angeles City Councilman for the 14th District.

A former labor organizer and progressive grassroots volunteer, Villaraigosa served as national co-chairman of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign and as a member of President Barack Obama’s Transition Economic Advisory Board.

The DEMS volunteer honorees are: Mike Haley, in his second term as Washoe County Sheriff; Connie Howard, long-time development officer for UNR and the WashoeDEMS; Todd Koch, president, Building & Construction Trades Council of No. Nevada; and Mark Tadder, WashoeDEMS Webmaster.
