Economist Elliott Parker to Address DEMS, Oct. 4


RENO – The public is cordially invited to hear University Economist Elliott Parker debunk the myths about government intervention, economic recovery and jobs in a talk to members of the Democratic Party of Washoe County (WashoeDEMS).

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Parker share his insights into the whole issue of government intervention, economic recovery and job creation,” Pam duPre, Executive Director, said. “He is a great speaker, and will tell us the facts based on his extensive research.”

Dr. Parker, professor and chair of the Department of Economics, has been on the faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno since 1992. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics at the University of Washington, Seattle. He also earned a B.B.A. in Business Systems Analysis at the University of Texas, Arlington.

Dr. Parker is an international expert on Asian economics. At the invitation of U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, he traveled to the nation’s Capitol to brief members of the Senate on economic issues.
